Dear Harborfields families and staff,
As I completed my first week as your new Harborfields High School principal, I wanted to reach out to share a few reflections and experiences. Although this is my first official week here, I've had the privilege of being involved in several events and activities already, and I’ve quickly come to see the deep sense of community and family that makes us truly “oneHFamily.” From the bonfire and homecoming festivities to Safe Halloween and several exciting playoff games, it’s been a wonderful introduction, and I look forward to so much more.
Walking around the school this week, I could see that our students, teachers, and staff are fully settled in and focused on the school year. It’s inspiring to see so much energy and enthusiasm as we work together toward a successful year. I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with many students, families, and faculty members already. Your warmth and support have made me feel at home, and it’s clear how deeply everyone here cares about our school’s success.
As the first quarter comes to a close, our students are already demonstrating the growth, resilience, and creativity that define Harborfields’ spirit. Teachers and staff have been working hard to provide engaging and innovative learning experiences, and I’m grateful for their dedication.
My priority is to begin building those relationships with our students and staff by getting to know each other and exploring how we can continue to support and grow our school community. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be visiting classrooms to introduce myself and make sure that every student recognizes me as a resource and someone they can reach out to at any time.
Building strong relationships with all students and families—from the moment they enter Harborfields to the day they graduate and beyond—is the most important responsibility I have. This is a personal commitment and a cornerstone of my role as an educator and leader. When students feel connected and valued within their school, they find a greater sense of purpose and focus on their learning.
Thank you for the warm welcome you’ve extended to me and for your continued partnership. Together, I’m confident we will make this a memorable and impactful year for every member of our Harborfields family. Let’s make it an amazing school year, and I look forward to meeting each of you as the year unfolds.
Warm regards,
Dr. Philip D. Farrelly
